Russia: New malting plant in Novosibirsk to be ready by second half of this year
The Novosibirsk Brewing Company intends to finish the construction of its new malting plant in the second half of 2018, a press-release by the local authorities said on June 20.
Construction works started last year and are expected to be completed by the end of 2018. The company is also building additional silos for storing the barley.
The regions Ministry of Agriculture said the plan would be processing up to 50 thousand tonnes of barley per year. Malting barley will be sourced from regional farmers, it added.
The Novosibirsk Brewing Companys existing malthouse produces around 13 thousand tonnes of Pilsen malt per year.
